The Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation-KDC, shared a press release to the democratic forces regarding Turkey’s airstrikes against both the southern and western parts of Kurdistan
Turkey has for several days carried out several air attacks against the Kurdistan Region in Iraq and the Kurdish towns and villages in the Syrian part of Kurdistan. Turkey has for many years attacked targets in both Iraq and Syria and the attacks have been directed specifically at Kurdish areas.
Turkey has no right to attack targets outside its borders, it does it anyway and doesn’t care about international reactions. These attacks disrupt security and peace both in Syria and the Iraqi part of Kurdistan.
The regime in Turkey is trying to slow down the Kurdish people’s quest for independence which is clearly emerging every day. It came to light in connection with the referendum on 25/9-2017 in southern Kurdistan.
We condemn the Turkish regime’s attacks on the Kurdish people. We call on all democratic forces to support Kurdistan’s independence.
